Track Repair and Alignment
Track Repair and Alignment
Misaligned or bent tracks can quickly lead to garage door malfunctions, such as getting stuck or going off the tracks. Our team will carefully inspect and realign tracks, replacing damaged sections as needed to ensure seamless movement.

An off-track garage door can collapse without warning. This puts your family, vehicles, and property at risk. Quick professional repair prevents accidents and costly damage to your door system. Watch for grinding noises, visible gaps between rollers and tracks, or crooked door panels. If your door moves shakily or makes metal-on-metal sounds, call us immediately.
On time and professional. The team was very up front as to what went wrong with the spring, gave me an estimate and were up front in letting me know that they might have to order the part but would make sure the garage would close. Either way, it took them an hour to replace the spring and without being pushy or overbearing told me some of the issues that might arise with the type of garage door I had (original builders). The guys saved me from a headache and I would recommend this company any time.

A garage door keeps coming off track, typically due to worn rollers, a bent track, loose hardware, or frayed lift cables. If the door is visibly crooked or hanging, do not operate it. The system is under extreme tension, and forcing it can cause severe injury or property damage.
What Causes a Garage Door to Come Off Track
Worn or Damaged Rollers: Rollers can deteriorate, crack, or snap, causing the door to lose its guide.
Bent or Misaligned Tracks: The metal tracks can be bent by accidental impact, or the mounting brackets may loosen and shift over time.
Slack or Broken Lift Cables: If a cable frays, snaps, or comes off its drum, the door will raise or lower unevenly, throwing it off track.
Track Obstructions: Debris, dirt, or small objects in the track can block the rollers, forcing the door off the rails
Age and Wear: Like any mechanical system, garage doors have a lifespan. Years of use wear down components, loosen hardware, and stress track mounting points. Older doors are more susceptible to alignment issues, especially if maintenance has been neglected.
Poor Installation: Improper initial installation often leads to track problems. If tracks aren’t level, properly spaced, or securely mounted, your door will eventually work itself loose.
Regular maintenance is your best defense against off-track problems:
Prevent garage door off-track issues by keeping tracks clear of dirt, tightening loose bolts monthly, and lubricating rollers and hinges twice a year. Never force the door open if it sticks, as it can cause the wheels to pop out of the metal guides.
- Annual professional inspections
- Regular lubrication of moving parts
- Prompt attention to unusual noises
- Immediate repair of minor damage
- Keeping the tracks clean and clear
Warning Signs of an Off-Track Garage Door
Crooked Appearance: The door slants to one side or has a larger gap on the floor.
Loud Noises: You hear grinding, scraping, or loud popping sounds as the door moves.
Shaking and Jerking: The door vibrates, stutters, or jumps as it travels up or down.
Visible Track Damage: The metal tracks are bent, dented, or pulled away from the wall.
Loose Hardware: Screws, bolts, or metal brackets on the tracks are shaking or missing.
Frayed Cables: The steel wires on the sides of the door are loose, frayed, or entirely off their metal drum
VERY impressed with these guys. Very professional. Very courteous. Honest dudes with integrity. I used a bigger, nationwide outfit (that has a letter and a number as part of its business name) and overpaid for the service several years ago. When the garage door was damaged, I called them back out and they said that the door needed to be replaced and that I needed new tracks and a new opener. The price was going to be nearly $6,500.
Over The Top dudes came out and said they could replace the damaged panels (x2), service our door, and install the best opener made for less than a third of what the other outfit wanted. When it came to the day of service, the two owners and a helper showed up, and they were gone within 90 minutes. They answered all of my questions, the work was done correctly, and they saved me several thousand dollars. I’ll be calling you guys again.
