Weatherstripping / Weather Seal Replacement

Weatherstripping / Weather Seal Replacement

Garage door weatherstripping and trim seal the gaps around your door. This blocks drafts, rain, and pests from entering your home. It also keeps conditioned air inside, lowering your utility bills. Trim covers the gaps while adding a neat, finished look to your house.

The Main Benefits of Weatherstripping

Lower Energy Bills

Gaps around your garage door let warm or cold air escape. Weatherstripping acts like a blanket. It traps your heated or cooled air inside. This means your heating and cooling systems work less, saving you money.

Keep Pests Out

Small cracks are easy entry points for spiders, mice, and other pests. High-quality rubber or vinyl seals close these holes. This keeps your garage bug-free and clean.

Protect Against Weather

Heavy rain, snow, and wind can easily sneak into a poorly sealed garage. Weatherstripping stops water from pooling and freezing on the floor. This prevents water damage to your tools, storage boxes, and the garage structure itself.

Reduce Noise

Thick rubber and brush seals muffle outside sounds, such as traffic and wind. They also help soften the rattle of the garage door as it opens and closes.

Repair Services for Residential & Commercial - Over the Top Garage Doors

On time and professional. The team was very up front as to what went wrong with the spring, gave me an estimate and were up front in letting me know that they might have to order the part but would make sure the garage would close. Either way, it took them an hour to replace the spring and without being pushy or overbearing told me some of the issues that might arise with the type of garage door I had (original builders). The guys saved me from a headache and I would recommend this company any time.

Weatherstripping / Weather Seal Replacement

Garage door trim is the decorative molding that frames the top and sides of the door. It hides the weatherstripping track. It also protects the edges of the wall and door from physical bumps.

Improve Curb Appeal: Warped or rotting trim makes your house look old. New PVC or vinyl trim gives your home clean, sharp lines on the outside. This quick upgrade makes your home look fresh and well-kept.

Types of Weatherstripping
  • Bottom Seals: These attach to the very bottom of your garage door. They close the gap between the door and the cement floor.
  • Threshold Seals: These are glued directly to the garage floor to block wind and water.
  • Top and Side Seals: Also known as stop molding, these flexible flaps attach to the door frame. They press against the door to stop air leaks.
When to Replace

Weatherstripping wears out over time from friction and weather. You should check your seals once a year. It is time to replace them if you see:

  • Cracks, tears, or brittleness.
  • Daylight shining through the closed door.
  • Cold drafts when standing near the door.

At Over The Top Garage Doors, we provide honest and dependable garage door maintenance, repairs, and installations for all your weatherstripping and trim needs. This includes inspecting, repairing, replacing, and applying weatherstrips and trim to your garage doors.

VERY impressed with these guys. Very professional. Very courteous. Honest dudes with integrity. I used a bigger, nationwide outfit (that has a letter and a number as part of its business name) and overpaid for the service several years ago. When the garage door was damaged, I called them back out and they said that the door needed to be replaced and that I needed new tracks and a new opener. The price was going to be nearly $6,500.

Over The Top dudes came out and said they could replace the damaged panels (x2), service our door, and install the best opener made for less than a third of what the other outfit wanted. When it came to the day of service, the two owners and a helper showed up, and they were gone within 90 minutes. They answered all of my questions, the work was done correctly, and they saved me several thousand dollars. I’ll be calling you guys again.
