Panel Design
The modern glass garage doors are available in two frame styles: standard and double-wide. Standard frames come in three widths with two, three, or four panels across. Double-wide frames feature heavier outer rails. They come in four widths with two, three, four, or five panels across.

8″ double-wide rails and double-end stiles apply only to larger glass garage doors and are not available as options for smaller single-car garage doors. Optional Insulated Frame:
Insulated rails and stiles are available as an option. Foamed-in-place polyurethane insulation fills the rails and stiles, providing enhanced thermal efficiency and adding an R-value* of up to 4.36 to the door.
*Wayne Dalton uses a calculated door section R-value for our insulated doors.
Door Construction:
- Effective Joint Seals – Snug-fitting tongue-and-groove section joints help prevent wind and weather from entering the garage.
- Reinforcing fins on all top section ands, as neede,d on intermediate section, provide years of smooth, trouble-free operation. The fins are the extruded part of the door sections and are not visible through the glass.
